We will pick you up in the morning at about 9 AM from your hotel/accommodation in Balchik, Albena, Kavarna or Varna and will drive you to the village of Durankulak on the Bulgaria-Romania border. We will start our walking tour with a short walk around Durankulak Lake – a freshwater lake, separated from the Black Sea by sand dunes and a beach strip. As the habitat of 260 rare and endangered species, the lake is one of the most important and well-preserved coastal wetlands in Bulgaria. The lake is also an archaeologically important area.
We will continue our tour southwards along the sea coast, enjoying the wonderful seascapes and sand dunes. We will pass the nearby Krapets village, where we will have lunch, glass of wine or coffee.
After resting for a while, we will continue to the Shabla Lake complex – two lakes occupying former riverbeds and a lagoon, separated from the Black Sea by a wide sandbar. This is also one of the best- preserved coastal wetlands in Bulgaria with international importance. We will finish our walking tour at the fishing village of Karia and the Shabla Lighthouse, where our car will be waiting to drive you back to your hotel/accommodation in Balchik, Albena or Kavarna. The tour lasts usually about 7-8 hours.
Please note that this is a slow walking tour, which means we will have time enough to explore the places in details, to fully enjoy the picturesque landscapes and seascapes along the tour route and to have time enough to enjoy the lunch and drinks.
We would be glad to prepare a customised sightseeing tour in the region of the Bulgarian North Black Sea Coast as per your requirements and places to be visited.
