The place

The Taj Mahal, a white marble mausoleum in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

I arrived at the end of the day after a long drive from Delhi. The place is grand and charming, evoking an unusual excitement. Its architecture, simple yet powerful, inspired me to take black and white pictures that capture the simplicity, eternity, and timeless atmosphere of the site. For the full experience, it's best to visit early in the morning and at dusk to witness the changing light, shifting shadows, and fluctuating crowds. While it's nearly impossible to have the place to yourself, focusing on the monument rather than the visitors can help you fully appreciate its beauty.
