Hua Lamphong, affectionately known as the local name for Bangkok's historic main train station, has long been an iconic landmark in Thailand's bustling capital. This grand structure, with its distinctive architecture and rich history, served as the primary railway hub for decades, connecting travelers from all corners of the country.
However, as of January 19, 2023, all long-distance train services throughout Thailand have been redirected to depart from, or terminate at, the newly constructed Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal. This modern facility has taken over the role of Bangkok's primary railway station, marking the end of an era for Hua Lamphong while ushering in a new chapter for rail travel in Thailand.
